High Noon With the Bankers

Here is another email I received from one of the groups addressing the economic crisis in America today. Yesterday, thousands of you called your Attorney General and demanded that they choose a side: the homeowners they've sworn to protect or the big banks that broke the law and bankrupted the economy.  Calls were made in 47 states! This is no small feat. And it's all because of you. Because of your call, the Attorneys General will have YOUR WORDS in mind as they sit down  today  with the big banks to hammer out the terms of the settlement to their fraudulent practices. They know that we will accept nothing less than a settlement that saves homes and forces the banks to pay for their crimes. Here's what some of you reported after the call: I tried 3 different numbers to leave a message and they were all FULL! I had to keep calling back. I'm glad so many people called, I've been so looking forward to today!! I told her (the receptionist) th...

Call Them AG's Tommorrow

This Morning the PICO National Network sent me a reminder email that tomorrow is the national call in day to demand AG's hold banks accountable for the foreclosure mess.  Read below: Tomorrow, on March 29, we have the opportunity of a lifetime to save millions from losing their homes and hold accountable the big banks that caused this crisis. Right now, the 50 state Attorneys General are in critical negotiations with the big banks. The outcome of these negotiations could mean the difference between millions of struggling homeowners finally getting the help they need from their lenders, or the big banks continuing with business as usual, foreclosing on families needlessly. Bank of America, Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase, and other big banks could easily walk away scott-free, if thousands of us don’t call our Attorneys General tomorrow. Read 5 reasons to call your Attorney General tomorrow The time is now to collectively fight back.  We can work together to demand that the big ...

The Daily Mail Grinds On!

I have gotten another email letter from the fight against foreclosures, being led by PICO and National People's Action.  I consider it a fundamental question of justice that after the banks and big financial institutions were bailed out, they should in turn help the customers on whom they depend.  It also makes economic sense.  If the big banks are too big to fail, then the working class of this country, who outnumbers the bankers, is definitely too big to fail.   So the campaign is on to get State Attorney Generals to take state actions to stop the foreclosure crisis.  Read on: Click here  to join our CrimeShouldntPay campaign on Facebook and follow the "Daily Dupe" leading up to the Attorneys General Call-In Day on March 29. Dear Joseph,   Bank of America focused its pr machine yesterday at the city of Detroit, a city badly hurt by the foreclosure crisis. In an Op-Ed in  The Detroit News  called  “Foreclosur...

End Foreclosures Now

Here is a letter I have received on actions to stop the foreclosure crisis:   On March 7, the first draft of a proposed settlement from the the 50 state Attorneys General against the big banks for their rampant mortgage fraud went public.    The AGs probably thought that starting with a  middle-of-the-road proposal  full of potential loopholes would be a good way to start negotiations. But the big banks and their supporters have already started crying foul, trying to slip out of any real enforcement, punishment and restitution for the millions of homeowners they owe. This means that it’s time to kick into high gear our push for a “settlement that fits the crime.” The state Attorneys General are expected to begin negotiations with the big banks this week.  While the final details will take weeks to hammer out, the opening salvo will determine what stays on – or gets kicked off – the negotiating table. That’s why we are planning a  Nationwide Call-In ...

Attorneys General Action

There are more actions in this fight coming up.  Next Tuesday is  the    Nationwide Call-In Day to the Attorneys General

A Letter from National Peoples Action

Here is the letter I got from National Peoples Action.  I called John Walsh and tried to talk to him, but he wasn't taking the calls.  The poor receptionist was having to record and forward them all.  I said, that's okay, your just doing your job.  Give John a call.    I have a u-tube on the National Peoples Action  demonstrations  and two foreclosure blues songs for you today.  Dear Joseph, Right now, more than 500 people are making lots of noise outside the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency – the worst bank regulator that you never heard of.   They are demanding that the OCC stop throwing homeowners under the bus in the their tireless efforts to protect the big banks. Join the crowd by calling OCC Chief John Walsh right now at 202-874-5000.  Tell him, “We need the OCC to take its responsibility seriously and hold banks accountable for fixing the foreclosure mess.”  And be sure to follow the day’s events on Twitt...
